The last time out against our coastal friends the conditions were nothing short of atrocious. However, thinking back, we showed endeavour to move the ball around far more than we did yesterday on a bright sunny and surprisingly warm winter morning.

Hopes were high after last week’s excellent team play. However from the pre match routine our troops didn’t seem at the races, and unfortunately this translated into the game with some very individual running. Weston were sporting a development team and they showed admirable courage against some of our direct running hefty lumps! Last week we were excellent at moving the ball around and keeping it alive but unfortunately yesterday there was a step back regarding this. It wasn’t all bad though, far from it, it’s just me being picky yet again! Everyone pitched in and in general it was a good performance, however after last week’s performance the capacity crowd were expecting a grrrrrreat performance! “Woody” however had a standout game finally coming alive and fulfilling the potential we know he has. He was everywhere, and everything he touched turned to gold, culminating in his first touchdown for the season. Rich grabbed the other in fine style showing graceful pace coupled with excellent evasive qualities. Tom Wills also showed great endeavour as did Tyler Munn and Mini Mac when they were unleashed through some rare passing.

As mentioned previously this wasn’t a bad performance and to be honest nobody did anything wrong it was just a bit ……….flat, with no ambition for the expansive game which we are aiming for.

From now on let’s try and pass the ball to death, its fun, everybody gets a go and it looks great!!!
