Clevedon On Fire Vs Burnham

This was a welcome win for Clevedon in the Somerset cup tie. Both sides took this match as an opportunity to blood youngsters and made for some entertaining stuff. The Seasiders opened the scoring with a fine try from Mason Parslow converted by Adam Coles. From the restart Clevedon recycled the ball well allowing Cameron Maslen to break the Burnham defence and put young hooker Jack Crew in under the posts converted again by Coles. Clevedon went further ahead when forward pressure produced a penalty try at scrum time 21-nil. Burnham certainly came to play and were rewarded with a converted try after some good interplay. In the time left before the break tries from Joey Tucker and no8 Gary Carpenter increased the lead to 31-7.
The second half started the same as the previous 40 minutes with Mason Parslow finishing a fine handling move converted by Coles .Clevedons offloading was rewarded with another try shortly afterwards from Cameron Maslen, converted by Coles. The home side now rung the changes from the bench consisting of teenagers and it was replacement scrum half Adam Warren who sneaked over on the blindside for a try converted again by Coles. Cameron Maslen had the last say with and intercepted converted try.
