Clevedon Loose at Bideford

Clevedon, without players due to injury, illness and an unwillingness to travel tried their best, but going away with an understrength side does not help the cause. Biddy took the lead almost immediately with a converted try, moments later they increased their lead when a scrum on the Clevedon line lost the ball and Biddy scored a somewhat fortunate try duly converted. The Seasiders hit back and their first venture into the Biddy half saw them recycle the ball well, allowing Rhys Talbot to offload to Joe Tucker to score a good try, converted by the ever green James Barzotelli. The Clevedon pack worked tirelessly pushing the Biddy pack back at scrum time but their cause was not helped with the loss of No.8 warren Taylor with a rib injury. Before the break Biddy scored two more try's converting one to lead 26-7 at halftime.

The second half followed suit with the seasiders battling but sadly it was mostly one way traffic with Biddy scoring three more converted tries before the game was halted due to a serious injury to a Clevedon player.The game was held up for 20 minutes and with light fading the game was moved to another pitch.The seasiders now completely depleted were really up against it and conceded a further three converted tries.The dying minutes saw Clevedon brave on the line, striving to score a second try but it was not to be.

Head coach Nick Hill commented 'It was a very difficult afternoon and not easy on the eye but I have nothing but praise for the eighteen players who represented Clevedon today and thanks for the supporters who made the trip.
