Clevedon welcomed the previously unbeaten Stroud to the Vale and over the next 80 minutes systematically took them apart.The seasiders started well and their forward dominance was on show early as Harvey Russell scored from a push over try, converted Jordan Mein. Straight from the restart Clevedon were at it again when some superbly recycled ball resulted in Tom Thie busting the line to score converted Mein .The next third of the game saw the seasiders trying to play too much rugby and forcing the issue with stray passes and careless kicks. However their dominance, not just at setpiece but in the loose, was rewarded when Ryan Hervey finished off a fine handling move. From the visitors point of view visits to the Clevedon half were met with excellent line speed and first up tackles and at halftime Clevedon led 19 - nil.
After the break Clevedon settled into job in hand and put some superb rugby together, the dominance up front provided excellent ball for the backs to play some exspansive rugby resulting in Tom Thie going over for his second try. Next on the score sheet was Tyrell Moneyman when some superb offloading saw him score in the corner, unconverted for 29 - nil. From the kick off Stroud reclaimed the ball and recycled to score an unconverted try 29-5 .Back came the Seasiders with some powerfull forward surges and Toby Ford scored under the posts converted by Mein. Clevedon moved further ahead when Jordan Mein finished off a slick handling move to score in the corner for 41-5 The Seasiders final score came when Ashley Vailles took a quick tap penalty to score under the posts, converted by Mein for 48-5 .The last play of the match saw Stroud score a late consolation try 48 -12 .
Head coach Nick Hill commented 'This was our best performance todate the setpiece and breakdown were excellent allowing us play some good go forward rugby but whilst this is a great result we wont be getting ahead of ourselves'
