This was a gallant effort by the seasiders which sadly ended in disappointment. Clevedon started well with the wind behind them and had much of the early territorial advantage putting the Chew side under pressure at scrum time and hammered the red zones but couldn't break the stubborn defence. Then on the 20th minute came a huge game changer when Clevedon were reduced to 14 men when the referee had judged that a Clevedon player had used his boot illegally. This seemed only to galavanise the seasiders who then took the lead with a fine try from Jack Crew converted by Mein . Before the break Jordan Mein kicked a penalty to lead 10nil. After the break and playing into the wind Clevedons defence was severely tested by the league leaders and with Clevedon down to 13 with a sin bin they could not hold out as Chew ran in 5 trys converting 2, this was a tough battle but a great display from the Clevedon boys with a vintage performance from Tom Thie playing like a man 10 years younger... Head Coach Nick Hill commented obviously the lads are very disappointed as with 15 players it could have been very different that said they should be proud because they showed tremendous spirit right till the end.
