Clevedon were well beaten by a well drilled and determined Gordano side . The game was played on the 3G surface at Failand after Gordanos pitch was deemed unplayable and the surface certainly favoured the Sharks backline who threatened all afternoon. The seasiders started well scoring an unconverted try , Gordano hit back straight away with a converted try. The story of the first half which was fairly even, saw Clevedon trying to batter their way up front and the Sharks spreading the ball , at the break the Sharks led 19-12. The turning point came early in the second half when Clevedon lost 2 players to injury and never really regained any composure, although they had the more than their share of possession a determined Gordano defence kept them out and the Sharks ran away with it scoring trys late on in the half.
Head Coach Nick Hill commented Gordano were fitter and faster than us today and deserved their victory. On a sombre note we as a club would like send our thoughts and condolences to Gordano and in particular the family of Paul Southey, who sadly passed away on Saturday evening.
