This was Clevedons first home game for some time due to recent wet weather. On a sticky pitch the visitors started well scoring two trys in succession converting one, at this point anyone watching would have been expecting the flood gates to open, but Clevedon hit back when Edwin Smith and Ryan Hervey combined to put Joe Tucker over the line for a try converted by Ethan Thomas. The seasiders really picked up now and applied a lot of pressure in the red zone but sadly a bit of white line fever denied them and just before the break Sodbury extended their lead 7-19 . The second half saw Clevedon soaking up pressure for long periods of time but defended superbly and with 15 minutes to go Warren Taylor made a tremendous break just in side the Sodbury half, handing players off and running a full 35 metres to score a superb solo try and doing so gaining a bonus point. The last minutes of the game saw Clevedon camped on the Sodbury line but just couldn't get over. Head Coach Nick Hill commented 'after a shaky start the lads showed great spirit and resilience and were unlucky not to get more out of the game'.
