This was afar better display by Clevedon.Clevedon dominated the early phases and took the lead with a try by hooker Jack Williams. Clevedon could have increased their lead but kicks at goal just sailed wide.On Matson's first incursion into the Clevedon 22 they scored a converted try having taken a quick tapped penalty.Clevedon's line out was successful this week with Harley Foley dominating.
The second half started with Clevedon upping their game and the backs handling and running well,but the final long pass too often went astray .Clevedon took the lead with an excellent try involving Jack Williams and no.8.James Davis,with the lattre going over the white wash.Back came Matson and weak tackling let the visitors in for a converted try. Clevedon reduced the deficit with a Mike Taylor penalty. Clevedon now were dominant in the scrums and from a blindside break by Joey Tucker put debutante winger Richard Haines over in the corner.Mike Taylor converted with a superb kick from the touchline.A good bout of inter-passing saw Oscar James muscle his way over in the corner.corner. Matson never gave up and in the dying minutes scored their third try from a catch and drive at the line out.
