This was a game where Clevedon desreved more.They took a young side down to Corwall and their courage and the spectacular kicking of Mike Taylor did not quite see them home.Clevedon took an early lead through a MIke Taylor penalty.Camborne soon equalised with the same. Camborne then had a purple patch scoring two converted tries opening up the Clevedon defence.Clevedon kept hammering away down the slope and were rewarded on half time with a try from Harvey Russell from a catch and drive at the lineout.Mike Taylor converted from the touchline.Camborne led 17-10 at the break.
The second half started with Clevedon taking the game to the hosts,and with the lineout working well and slight dominance in the scrums Clevedon were in the game.Clevedon then had a player sin binned.During this period Mike Taylor kicked two penalties to bring the score to 17-16.Camborne then had a player sin binned.A break down the blindside produced an excellent try for Camborne.Camborne increased their lead with another try which was converted.During this period Clevedon were under pressure.The young braves stuck at it and good forward driving and support playe saw Ollie jones go over for a try which Taylor again converted from the touchline.Clevedon now thought they had secured a losing bonus point at least,but deep in injury time Camborne got over in the corner to deny Clevedon what they really deserved.A great effort from a youthful side plus the vetrean Ashley Vailes.
