This again was a game that got away.An excellent local derby with both sides producing a pulsating display for the large crowd.Avonmouth took the lead with a penalty but Mike Taylor soon equalised with the same.Both sides were intent on running the ball but on occasions kicked the ball instead of keeping it in hand.Missed tackles in midfield gifted Avonmouth the first try of the game.A poor kick by Clevedon gave away possession and as a results of the counter attack Avonmouth scored their second try.Avonmouth deserved their 13-3 lead at half time with their fast running backs always looking dangerous.

Clevedon came out for the second half really pumped up.and soon got on the scoreboard with a try by Joe Tucker in the corner which Mike Taylor converted.Clevedon now with their tails up snatched a second try after a devastating run by Oscar James saw Will Trollope go over in the corner Taylor again converted with a superb kick.

Clevedon with the introduction of Owen Biggins started to dominate the scrums.The lineout was working well with the Jack Williams and Harley Foley combination doing the business.Clevedon increased their lead with aMike Taylor penalty.Avonmouth hit back with a penalty.Clevedon pulled away again with another Taylor penalty.If Clevedon now thought the game was won ,there was one final sting in the tail,which has happened so often in the past Avonmouth scored a converted try in injury time to sneak a draw.
