Oscar James crossed for Clevedon’s only score of the game following good work from Joe Tucker, but the visitors were second best throughout on another disappointing away day.
Having fallen behind to an early try, Clevedon enjoyed a period of possession and territory but were unable to turn this into points, coming up metres short from successive driving mauls.
Wells rallied and went further ahead with two tries from tap penalties, as Clevedon switched off before half-time.
Battling a 20-point deficit at the break, but playing with the slope, Clevedon again made a promising start to the half, but were let down by unforced errors and numerous turnovers.
Wells scored twice more to extend their lead further, before James crossed for a consolation try in the dying minutes from a well-executed blindside move.
Taylor added the conversion from the touchline, but this was very much an afternoon to forget for Clevedon, who must find a way to put results together on the road.
Clevedon's next game is away at Cullompton on December 6.
