A day of female rugby at The Vale.

We always enjoy playing Nailsea & Backwell as their girls are friendly, polite and willing to help out if we are low on numbers. We are also pretty similar standards which makes the game a challenge for both teams.

On Sunday 27th November history was made at Clevedon RFC as it was the first afternoon all the girls played at home together. First we had the U15's playing, then then U13's, followed up by the newly formed Clevedon Women's v Thornbury. I was so very proud to be part of this special day. We also had Droneserve, the sponsors of the U13's team, filming the matches from the air to use as a training exercise for the girls, with pizza of course! I can't thank Droneserve enough for doing this for us, so very grateful and I hope we can do it again at some point.

Some great team playing from the girls, who dominated the pitch for most of the game. Nailsea and Backwell also played very well, and it was a rollercoaster on the score front! Special mentions to Emily Wilkinson for stepping out of her comfort zone and making some great tackles & runs, Teigan who is improving hugely with every game, Rosie had some great challenges & was queen of the rucking, Lizzy with her turning over the ball (like a little ferret), Jade very strong in the middle of the field with some ferocious running, Ruby for facing her fears & making some awesome tackles also with some great runs on the wing. Anna got really stuck in this week as well and played with confidence I haven't seen before, Millie C great supporting play, Millie W made some great tackles and ground, Lauren who made some brilliant runs supporting Ren, Amelie for continuing to play although she hurt herself & made good ground for the team. Ren for scoring all six tries and some conversions, even with the opposition running at her! Great tackling, footwork as well. Well done for keeping
your cool!

All in all a great day for rugby at Clevedon RFC!
